Congestion in nose is so common, isn’t it? Many a times we face this issue that our nose gets clogged because of cold, cough or some other problems. Sometimes nasal blockage can also be due to fluids getting stored in the passage, it creates problem especially when you wake up in the morning. Nasal problems and stuffy nose should be taken as seriously as other health conditions because the mucus can accumulate over the nasal and air passage and create respiratory problems in the future. Here are some ways through which you can get rid of nasal blockage, congestion and stuffy nose on a regular basis.

There can be number of ways that can aid in keeping nose clean and preventing it from getting obstructed. Nose cleaning does not require doctor’s help regularly, even small remedies or methods can be sufficient to keep nose clean and health. Cleaning of nose can be done through old methods such as taking steam, snuffing out the mucus at regular intervals or through other therapy methods. The best time to clean your nose is when you are going for bath, do not prick your nose rather try these methods.

Easy Ways to Keep Nose Clean

1. Use a Nasal wash

Nasal wash are simple spray like machines that helps to remove debris and mucus from the nose. A nasal wash is a great method to clean your nose at any time of the day and prevent germs and allergies from affecting you. Different types of nasal sprays and nasal wash are available that can do the job for you. You need to have a saline solution that you put in the spray bottle and use it to clean all sorts of bacteria, allergens and germs from the nose.

2. Stiff onions

You must be wondering what has onion to do with nose cleaning; well there is a lot to admire. Have you observed how onions bring tears and clean your eyes naturally? This works in similar pattern, onions act as a catalyst in order to secrete a liquid that cleans your nose effectively. For this you just need to peel the onion, slice it and then smell it. Within a few minutes you will observe the blockage and congestion in nose is gone.

3. Blow your nostrils at regular intervals

A very simple and easy way to clean your nose is to blow it. If your nose is stuffed, then blowing your nostrils can help to get rid of the dirt and mucus out of the nose. Just be sure that your eyes are closed and mouth is opened to release the pressure from the face. Most of the people blow very hard, which is not a healthy activity. Blow your nostrils softly and wipe it of using a soft tissue. This can be done 3-4 times in a day easily.

4. Take a steam

One of the oldest methods to clean any congestion or blockage in the nose is through getting steam. The heat and moisture absorbed from the stream clears your nose and relaxes your body. Boil around 4-5 cups of water and keep it in a pot, now put a towel over your head in order to breathe and relax your body. Take steam for about 10 minutes and you will notice your mucous moves out of your nose effectively.

5. Neti pot for Nose cleaning

This is a newly built technique to clean your nose and remove phlegm from the nose. Neti pot is a vesicular pot that has a narrow opening on one side. You can add 10 grams of rock salt in one litre of neti pot and fill it in the pot after heating. Now tilt your neck and inhale from the tip of the pot from one of the nostrils. Keep your mouth slightly open during this process and let the water come out of your left nostril. Now repeat this process with left nostril too. This process removes all type of phlegm and germs from the nose.
